Organic Champagne

What’s more chic than drinking Champagne? How about sipping organic Champagne? Choosing organic bubbly when you’re toasting a gal pal’s birthday, celebrating an achievement, or simply enjoying an intimate evening with your soul mate is the perfect libation for your special moments.

At Jing Ai, we are all about being both chic and green, so we thought we’d share some of our favorite organic Champagnes with you.

  • Champagne Carte d’Or Brut Serge Faust (about $40) – This classic Champagne is not only made from organic grapes, it’s also vegan. A dry, full-bodied bubbly, this is more than just a toasting Champagne; it goes well with hearty food.
  • Korbel California Champagne Brut Organic (about $15) – You’re probably familiar with Korbel’s consistently good Champagnes, but did you know they also make an organic Champagne? Made from 100% organically grown grapes, this medium-dry sparkling wine pairs with light chicken and seafood dishes, Asian cuisine, and fruit and mild cheese.
  • Mionetto Organic Prosecco (about $15) – Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine, very similar to Champagne, but sometimes a bit sweeter. Mionetto’s sparkling wine is one of the dryer Prosecco, and is a perfect toasting wine that can also be enjoyed with seafood dishes.

If you can’t find organic Champagne at your wine store…

Make some time for a romantic trip to a tasting room of a small winery in your region to see if they offer a sparkling wine. Most small wineries use sustainable farming practices even if their wines aren’t certified organic. Buying from these wineries reduces the carbon footprint of your sparkling wine (it travels fewer miles) and helps support your local farmer. Sure, having a vineyard sounds more glamorous than having a farm, but when you get to the heart of it, growing grapes is farming…….anytime you put on a pair of Wellies and old jeans to dig in the dirt….in our book, it’s farming!
