So I went to a party this weekend and just had to share this awesome recipe as I went home and made it the next day for my family…..and I am not really a baker.
2 pie crusts
2 cups powdered sugar
3 Lg Organic Brae burn apples (preferably from local farm)
1 1/4 Sticks real butter, no substitutes – and melt it
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
2 – 3 Tablespoons of bread flour
Peel the apples and then slice them. Sprinkle ½ the cinnamon on apples and pour entire stick of melted butter on top. Mix together and add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of bread flour, mix it all together and pour into your crust. Roll out your crusts on top of pie plate and pinch edges. Take a knife and make about 8 slits in pie crust.
The slits allow the pie to breath so it won’t explode in your oven – genius right? After making it, I suggest putting foil in bottom of your oven to catch spill-over’s.
Now for the yummy part! Take the last 1/4 stick of butter and melt it and add the granulated sugar and cinnamon stir into a buttery paste. With a pastry brush dab onto pie crust it will make crust extra flaky and sweet.
Bake on center rack at 350 for 40 min. Let cool and serve with milk or vanilla ice cream. Take a taste and I guarantee you will go to organic pie heaven!
