Fall into Fashion

September 13, 2011

I may still be sporting sandals and tank tops as I write this, but over the week there was a bit of a change in the air – fall is on its way. The one thing that makes the final weeks of summer bearable is the thought of fall fashions. It’s time to add a few eco-friendly fashions to my closet, and I am LOVING the color trends the designers are showing for autumn. Let me assure you, we are all going to look absolutely stunning this fall.

Warm earth-inspired red, burnt orange, brown, green, gold and jewel tones are what are hot for fall 2011. The good news is that these colors complement just about every hair color, every skin tone, and every gorgeous gal.

Here are a couple of pieces from hotter-than-hot fashion designers that I’d love to hang in my closet this year. They wouldn’t stay in my closet too long, though. I’d be pulling them out to wear all the time.

Jason Patrick’s kimono coat – From his Organic collection, this yellow-gold coat three-quarter-length sleeve coat is the perfect thing to throw on when the weather starts getting chilly.

Samantha Pleet’s Ritual sweater – This deep jewel-toned purple sweater with so many tassels that it should be too much, but somehow they’re just not. This is a go-everywhere sweater.

The textile influencer Lenzing has named their fall 2011 fashion trend color categories with great names like rugged, exotic and reflection……oo la la am just loving this! Rugged mixes earthy colors with cold tones for an urban feel. Exotic colors and those of reflection allow a girl to express herself. I am totally inspired by these color collections to add a few rugged, earthy pieces that are expressions of me to my wardrobe and then mix them with some of my standard favorite pieces that never go out of style.

What excites you most about the fall 2011 eco-fashions?
