Fish Oil & Your Skin!

December 14, 2011

Q. I’ve heard that eating fish is good for my skin. Is that true?

A. It sure is. You know those omega-3 fatty acids that you keep hearing are so good for your heart health, your joint health, and possibly even your mental health? Turns out those lovely little fatty acids (without such a lovely name) also promote healthy skin. Talk about super food.

Try adding flavorful fish such as herring, mackerel, salmon, anchovies or tuna to your diet once or twice a week and the beneficial omega-3’s will help keep moisture in your skin. This is particularly important now when the weather is getting chilly and skin tends to show its displeasure by getting dry.
