Cranberry Sweetness

November 15, 2012

I always like to add a little something new to my holiday menus each year – something I’ve never served before. Who wants to be predictable? This year, I’m choosing a fun and easy way to add something new. I’m trying some new grown up cranberry drinks.

Cranberry is a classic holiday flavor, and I’m going to stock up on fresh cranberries from the farmers market, organic cranberry juice cocktail, and organic wines and spirits to serve whip up these cranberry cocktails for my friends and family. Cheers!

Cranberry Champagne Cocktail – Toast to all you’re thankful on for this Thanksgiving with this combination of frozen cranberries (buy some local, fresh cranberries at the farmers market and throw them in the freezer), cranberry juice, champagne and lime.

Cranberry Ginger Fizz Cocktail – Fresh cranberries are used to make a syrup and more cranberries are muddled in the bottom of this cocktail. For the gin, I suggest Bluecoat American Dry Gin. It’s made with organic botanicals and is all natural.

Cranberry Kiss Mocktail – For the kids, the designated drivers, and the teatotalers, try this non-alcoholic cranberry cocktail.

Organic Mixology Wild Cranberry & Blood Orange Cocktail – It doesn’t get any easier than this to add something new to your holiday festivities. Organic Mixology makes artisanal, prepared-to-pour, USDA certified organic cocktails. All you have to do is pour the cocktail in a shaker with ice, shake and pour into a martini glass. Voila! An organic cranberry-flavored cocktail to serve throughout the holidays. Yum!

What’s your favorite cranberry drink to enjoy during the holidays?
