I’m so excited for Thursday! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. (I think I say that for every holiday – I love them all!) I make sure that amid all the baking and basting that I take the time to sit back and reflect on my life and all the many things there are to be thankful for. This year, I’m not even sure where to start. No, that’s not true. I do know where to start. My family is my biggest blessing, and I feel very lucky to be with them day in and day out.In addition to my amazing family, there are so many other things to be grateful for. Sometimes, I meet people who are consumed and pre-occupied with all the things they don’t have instead of all the things they do have. I think that when a person has gratitude for all the things in their life that made them who they are, they are a truly grateful person. Being a grateful person in life is a choice that you make when you recognize what you do have, not dwell on what you don’t have. So I made a top 10 list of all that I’m truly grateful for. First and foremost, I am grateful for my family and the happiness they bring to my life on a daily basis.I am grateful for my health and the health of my loved ones. The fact that we can all simply take a walk and enjoy the fresh air together is a simple pleasure that I don’t take for granted.I am grateful for the beautiful home we live in and all the shelter it provides us from theoutsideworld.Home is where the heart is :)I am grateful for the lovely town we live in. It is full of tree-lined streets that look so pretty in every season. I am grateful for my precious cat Max who has been with me for 16 years through thick and thin. He still loves me like the day I found him.I am grateful for the amazing country we live in and all the privileges that come with living in the USA.I am grateful for our company Jing Ai and all the great things that have come with it through our hard work. I’m also grateful for the opportunities that are coming our way in 2013.I am thankful for my friends. Although my list of friends has gotten smaller as I have gotten older those on the list provide me with true friendship.I am thankful for my volunteer work with the American Cancer Society so that I can feel good about giving of myself to others who are in need.
Lastly, and most importantly, I am thankful for our creator — for pure love that cannot be explained, and for the creativity that he inspires in everyone who is willing to listen to his silent whisper. The gratitude I feel in my heart on a daily basis makes me know I am doing exactly what I was born to do.
Wishing each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving and a few quiet moments where you can sit down and reflect on the things that you are grateful for.
