Earlier this month I was in my beloved New York City at the start of Fashion Week to debut Jing Ai’s new Vienna Charm Duos. Being a part of New York City’s Fashion Week is simply a dream come true for me! You know what else is a dream come true? Seeing eco-fashion highlighted on this year’s runways. It is so exciting to see the fashion industry embracing the fact that glamour and green go hand in hand.
Take a look at some of the fabulous eco-friendly, sustainable fashion events from New York City’s Fashion Week featured on some of the best eco-fashion blogs I’ve come across.
Modavanti Kicks Off Fashion Week With Sustainable Fashion “Flash Mob” – Green carpets were rolled out in Madison Square Park, Union Square, and Washington Square Park for models to give surprise eco-friendly fashion shows featuring Modavanti fashions. I love Modavanti’s tag line – Making Sustainable Sexy. – on their website.
J Crew Salvages Hurricane Damaged Wood for Runway – As a Jersey girl, I love this! The damaged boardwalks from Coney Island, Rockaway Beach, and Atlantic City got a second life as J Crew models strutted their stuff on them.
We all know New York City is THE place for fashion, but of course, it isn’t the only place for fashion. Our eco-fashion loving friends in New Zealand will get their first ever eco-fashion runway event this weekend.
Exposed: Ten Insider Details About New Zealand’s First Ever Eco-Fashion Runway Event – If you’re into eco-fashion no matter where it’s happening, you’ll want to check out the info on this fashion even that will feature “ten sustainable designers as they come together to present original looks made completely from organic and upcycled materials.”
