The end of the school year means my wonderful boys will be home daily for two months. Maybe I should say my wonderful, growing boys who are in the kitchen practically every hour on the hour looking for something to satisfy their non-stop appetites will be home daily for two months. As the weather gets hotter, they’ll be raiding the freezer for cold treats.
This summer, we’ll be getting so much use out of our Yonanas dessert maker. Wait. What? You haven’t heard of Yonanas?! We LOVE it at my house. It turns fresh fruit into a frozen treat in just a few minutes.
Many of the recipes for Yonanas start with a frozen banana (it’s great for using up bananas that have gotten a little too ripe to eat) and incorporate other fruits and yummy ingredients. The machine swirls everything together into an ice cream-like treat. Here are few of my favorite easy Yonanas recipes.
- Cherry Yonanas – Simple. Just bananas and cherries.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Yonanas (kid favorite!) – Banana. Cocoa powder. Peanut butter.
- Mango Sorbet – Just mango. That’s it. (Not all recipes have to have banana.)
Those are just a few of the many simple, quick, healthy Yonanas recipes on their site. There are also a ton of Yonanas recipes on Pinterest. People get very creative, and sometimes they create grown up treats with the machine like this Homemade Pineapple Vodka and Yonanas Pineapple Sorbet Cocktail.
It’s just great to cool off in the summer with a bowl of a truly healthy, frozen treat with ingredients that I trust giving my family and my guests.
Have you discovered Yonanas yet? What’s your favorite concoction?
