Luxury At It's Finest

December 6, 2014

‘Tis the season to treat your friends and family to gifts that show them how special they are to you. I am especially excited about this year’s gift list. It’s full of beautiful choices that I would love to find in a package with my name on it. The loved ones on your list will appreciate your thoughtfulness and great taste when they unwrap any of these gifts.

Brighton is my new fixation. I went into the store to buy a gift for a friend and discovered how awesome it is and how many beautiful items it carries. I love the detail put into their jewelry, hair accessories, belts and bags. And the watches are stunning. They’re just as much a head-turning fashion accessory as they are a timepiece. Anything from Brighton makes a thoughtful gift.

The Big Ideas Notebook from Sloane Stationary in London is the gift that says “I believe you can do anything!” It’s a book for the dreamers of the world to write down thoughts and figure out what happens next. The cover is rich mauve with a lizard texture, the luxurious cream pages have gold edges, and the inside is just waiting to be filled with the future.

The Brass Heart Julep Cup from Rachel Zoe’s collaboration with the late Oscar de la Renta will add some beauty to wherever it graces. The brass cup is embossed with hearts and it’s oh-so versatile. On a desk, it can hold your favorite pens. On your vanity, it can hold makeup brushes. And, since it works as a vase, I think the best way to gift it is to fill it with flowers. When you buy anything from the collaboration, a percentage of proceeds will benefit New Yorkers for Children.

The Lipstick Key Fob from the iconic Henri Bendel is a little affordable luxury. There’s a special place in my heart for anything Henri Bendel, the 5th Avenue store introduced Jing Ai to NYC. I adore this keychain and how girly it is.

A Beautiful Christmas Ornament, perhaps one of Swarovski’s annual ornaments. An ornament that needs to be displayed where everyone can see it, not lost in the boughs of a tree. I have a few ornaments that set me back over the years, but I can say now it was totally worth it.  They never lose their beauty, and if you give one to someone you care about, the lucky recipient will be reminded of you for many, many years.

Happy shopping!
